The adventure begins early with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. Our first stop is the archaeological site of Chinchero, a charming Andean village that preserves Inca and colonial architecture, surrounded by agricultural terraces. Here, you'll also learn about the ancestral technique of weaving at a traditional textile center.
Next, we head to Moray, a unique archaeological site that served as an Inca agricultural laboratory. Its impressive circular terraces were used to experiment with microclimates and crops. Nearby are the Maras Salt Mines, a complex of over 3,000 salt ponds that are still used today in traditional methods, creating a breathtaking landscape amidst the mountains.
Afterward, we continue to Urubamba, where we'll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch featuring typical regional products. In the afternoon, we visit the majestic fortress of Ollantaytambo, one of the most astonishing constructions of the Inca Empire, renowned for its military, religious, and agricultural architecture. Finally, we head to Pisac, famous for its giant terraces, ceremonial temples, and vibrant artisan market brimming with color and culture.
The tour concludes with the return to Cusco at sunset, after a complete circuit filled with history, nature, and living traditions.
