With organized transportation, guided support, and a well-paced route, this full day tour delivers a perfect balance of adventure, history, and natural beauty near Cusco.
The day begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco around 4:00 a.m. We'll travel south from Cusco for 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach Cusipata, where we'll have an Andean breakfast. Then we continue traveling for 2 hours to the starting point of the hike, Punta Carretera (short route).
The hike lasts between 1 hour and 30 minutes and 2 hours and takes you through breathtaking landscapes: mountains, deep valleys, rock formations, and Andean flora. Upon arriving at Waqrapukara, you'll be greeted by its impressive stone structures built on the edge of the abyss, with panoramic views that will leave you speechless.
Our guide will explain the history of the site, its ceremonial importance, and its connection to the worship of the Apus (mountain spirits). Afterward, you'll have time to explore and take photos before beginning the return journey.
At the end of the hike, we will board our transport to return to Cusipata and enjoy a buffet lunch, before returning to Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:30 p.m.
