The Most Famous Hike in Peru & South America
2 Days & 1 Nights
The Humantay Lake Trek is a two-day hike with spectacular scenery to the Humantay Lake through the local indigenous villages of Iscuchaca and Limatambo, who keep Inca traditions alive. The lake is situated at the base of the majestic glacier-covered Salkantay mountain range. On the second day, you will hike to the highest point of the trek (4,650 m / 15,367 ft). From this viewpoint, you will be able to enjoy nature in its purest form as you will be able to see snow-capped mountains surrounding it.
Our adventure begins with a transfer from Cusco to the picturesque town of Mollepata, where we'll make a brief stop for breakfast.
Then we'll continue to Soraypampa, the starting point of our trek, surrounded by majestic Andean mountains and valleys.
Along the way, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of traditional villages, deep valleys, and snow-capped mountains,
especially the majestic Salkantay.
From Soraypampa, we'll begin a hike of approximately two and a half hours (round trip) to the stunning Humantay Lagoon, a turquoise mirror of water nestled at the foot of glaciers.
After enjoying the scenery, we'll return to Soraypampa where you can relax and enjoy tea, coffee, or hot chocolate.
We'll spend the night in comfortable bungalows, enjoying the tranquility of the natural surroundings. At night, we will experience a magical moment observing the starry sky of the Andes, where the Milky Way and the figure of the llama are drawn in the firmament, while we enjoy a delicious dinner.
Maximum height: 4,650 m / 15,255 ft
Minimum height: 2,900 m / 9,514 ft

After a nutritious breakfast in the bungalows, we'll continue our trek, ascending to the highest point of the route, the Salkantay Pass, located at 4,650 meters above sea level.
From this vantage point, we'll enjoy an unparalleled panoramic view of the snow-capped peaks of Salkantay (6,217 meters above sea level), Humantay, and Huayanay,
accompanied by the rivers and lagoons that adorn the landscape.
Our guide will share stories and legends about the Apus, the sacred mountains of the Andes, and teach you how to perform a
traditional ceremony of gratitude to the mountains, an ancestral practice of connecting with nature.
After this special moment, we'll descend again to Soraypampa for lunch. Finally, we'll board our private transport back to Cusco, where you'll be transferred directly to your hotel.inal ID or passport you used to book your ticket.
