Our new 1-day tour focuses on the famous archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman and the Inca village of Pisac, with its impressive Inca ruins above the city. Sacsayhuaman, with its impressive Inca architecture, dominates the northeastern part of the city of Cusco, next to the Cruz del Cristo Blanco which shines over the city of Cusco 24 hours a day. We also explore the archaeological sites of Q’enqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay, which are located on the way to the Sacred Valley and Pisac.
The Inca village of Pisac is one of the largest pre-Columbian style artisan and textile markets in the Cusco region and the archaeological ruins of Pisac are considered one of the best remaining Inca archaeological sites in the country. The Inca tunnel and the Sacred Temple Complex are built from exquisitely carved pink granite. You will also explore one of the largest Inca cemeteries with over 2000 tombs and admire the incredible agricultural terraces dug into the mountain. At the colorful Inca market in Pisac, you will be able to appreciate a mix of colors and Inca culture and tradition. You will have plenty of opportunities to try out your bartering skills, interact with local artisans and buy their handmade souvenirs.

We will start with the pick up from your hotel at 8 am in our private transport to begin our trip to the Sacred Valley towards the Great White Christ on the top of the hill, which shines 24 hours a day. There, we begin our tour at the famous archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman, with its impressive Inca architecture, which dominates the city. Next we will visit the archaeological center of Q’enqo since it is very close to Saqsayhuaman this archaeological center is famous for its history and function in the Inca era since it was used to do the mummification processes our guide will tell you every detail of this magnificent place, then we will head towards Pucapucara which means the red fortress due to the pigmentation of its walls very close to there is Tambomachay our last nearby archaeological site, at the end of our guided tour in Tambomachay we will head northeast of Cusco on the way to the Sacred Valley (40 minutes in our van).
Upon arriving at Taray, we head to the viewpoint to enjoy a classic view of the Urubamba Valley with crops dressing the mountains like a carpet. Continuing on, we will head to the archaeological site of Pisac, one of the best remaining Inca archaeological sites in the country. There, we explore the Sacred Temple Complex, built with exquisitely carved pink granite from this important citadel. You will explore one of the largest Inca cemeteries with over 2,000 tombs and admire the incredible agricultural terraces dug into the mountain. Here we will spend over 1 hour exploring this Inca city.
After our visit, we will head towards the colorful Pisac market, famous for being the largest market for pre-Columbian-style crafts and textiles in the Cusco region. In this colorful Inca market, you will be able to appreciate a mix of Inca colors, culture and tradition. You will have plenty of opportunities to try your bartering skills, interact with local artisans and buy their handmade souvenirs. You will discover alpaca items of all kinds, such as sweaters, shawls, hats, gloves, blankets and much more, woven textile carpets, a huge market of silver jewelry, much of which is made on site, ornaments, alpaca rugs and artwork of all kinds. Be sure to try the empanadas made in large, ancient Inca ovens. There, you can stop for lunch and try all the local food(not included). At the end we will return to Cusco around 4:00 or 5:00 pm.

We would appreciate it if you pay in cash at our office (we accept US dollars or Peruvian soles) during your briefing 2 or 4 days before your trip. We have many ATMs in downtown Cusco. You can also pay with VISA or PAYPAL online, but you will have to pay a 5.5% service charge, charged by VISA and PAYPAL. To pay your balance via PAYPAL, you must log in to your PAYPAL account using our email address of metaperutravel@gmail.com.

¡Yes! You must bring your original passport and it is very important that it has the same passport number that you sent us to book your permit for the Machu Picchu Tour or package. Your passport will be checked when you enter Machu Picchu and when you board the train. In case you are renewing your passport, please send us a copy of your old passport to secure your permission and be able to change it when you get your new passport. If so, please send us a copy of your new passport as soon as possible.
DISCOUNTS
In the event that you are unable to finish the trek due to health reasons, our team will take you to the nearest town for assistance with transportation. We always carry oxygen on our treks for any respiratory issues. In extreme cases, we can arrange for a helicopter at your expense. (Travel insurance required, recommended). There are no refunds in the unlikely situation that you are unable to finish the trek.
Generally, those who need help getting off the trail are taken to Ollantaytambo and if they recover quickly they continue the journey to Aguas Calientes (cost incurred by the trekker) and visit Machu Picchu according to the original plan.
Unfortunately, the answer is No. Once the permits have been purchased, the Peruvian government does not allow any changes, so we cannot change any dates after the permit has been purchased. The permits are also non-transferable and non-refundable. If you cancel your Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 4 days, the deposit is not refundable at all.
Of course! Round-trip transfer to your hotel is included in all our packages! If you have booked your hotel in the Sacred Valley, we will drop you off there and vice versa.
If you are satisfied with the services provided, a tip is appreciated by our staff, although it is not mandatory. While it may not be a custom, it is of great importance to the people who will take care of you during the trek. It inspires excellent service and is an ingrained feature of the tourism industry in many META Peru destinations. Of course, you are free to tip as much as you like, depending on your perception of the quality and length of your trip. Remember, tipping is not mandatory and should only be given when you receive excellent service.
