Itinerary 5-Day Cusco & Machu Picchu Tour with Rainbow Mountain

Day 1 Welcome to Cusco and City Tour in the afternoon

Upon arrival at Cusco International Airport, our representative will greet you with a warm welcome and transfer you by private transport to your boutique hotel located in the heart of the city. Enjoy a complimentary traditional beverage and a short rest to acclimatize. In the afternoon, we will begin an exclusive City Tour of the most representative sites of the capital of the Inca Empire.

We will start with a visit to the Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha), one of the most sacred sites of the Inca era, where ancestral architecture blends harmoniously with colonial construction. Next, we will explore the Cusco Cathedral, an artistic gem that houses valuable works of the Cusco School.

We will continue to the archaeological sites surrounding the city: Sacsayhuaman, a majestic Inca fortress with enormous stone walls; Q'enqo, an ancient ceremonial sanctuary; and Puca Pucara, known as the "Red Fort." and Tambomachay,
famous for its water fountains dedicated to water worship and purification.

After the tour, you will return to your hotel to enjoy a relaxing afternoon or, if you wish, a gourmet dinner at one of Cusco's exclusive restaurants.

Day 2 Machu Picchu

Early in the morning, after a light breakfast at your hotel, our team will pick you up to begin your most anticipated journey: a visit to the wonder of the world, Machu Picchu.

We'll travel for 1 hour and 30 minutes to Ollantaytambo, where we'll board the tourist train to Aguas Calientes, enjoying a scenic ride surrounded by mountains and verdant valleys.
During the trip, you can relax with first-class service, Andean music, and landscapes that seem straight out of a dream.

Upon arrival, our guide will be waiting to take you on a short 30-minute bus ride to the entrance of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, where our guide will reveal the mysteries and secrets of this majestic work of Inca engineering. Explore temples, staircases, and terraces while feeling the mystical energy of this sacred place, surrounded by lush nature. After the visit, you will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch at the restaurant of your choice (lunch at passenger's expense). Afterward, you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our team will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 3 Free day to explore Cusco

Today you'll have a free day to explore the magical city of Cusco at your own pace.

You can stroll along its cobblestone streets, admire the blend of Inca and colonial architecture, and visit iconic landmarks such as the San Blas neighborhood, the San Pedro Market, or the Plaza de Armas, steeped in history and culture.

We recommend taking the opportunity to savor the exquisite local cuisine at one of the city's renowned restaurants or enjoying a relaxing afternoon sipping coffee with a view of the ancient Inca walls.

Day 4 Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain

Very early in the morning, our team will pick you up from your hotel to begin one of the most breathtaking experiences of your trip.

We'll travel for 1 hour and 30 minutes to Cusipata, where we'll enjoy an Andean breakfast with local products, perfect for recharging your energy and acclimatizing before starting the hike to Rainbow Mountain.

Then we'll continue traveling for 2 hours to the starting point of the hike, located at an altitude of approximately 4,600 m (15,091 ft). From here, we'll begin a gradual ascent of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours, until we reach the main viewpoint, situated at 5,020 m (12,139 ft).

At the summit, you'll have free time to rest, take photos, and admire the stunning multicolored landscape that makes Vinicunca one of the most impressive natural wonders in Peru. After enjoying this magical place, we'll begin our descent back to the starting point and then board our transport to Cusipata, where you'll enjoy a hearty buffet lunch. Finally, we'll return to Cusco in the afternoon. Overnight in Cusco.
