Itinerary Ultimate Peru Adventure (21 Days)

Upon your arrival in Lima, our representative will be waiting for you at the airport to welcome you and transfer you comfortably to your hotel. During your stay in Peru, you will enjoy a day full of excitement and new experiences, exploring over 2,000 years of history in the city of Lima.

The tour will begin in the afternoon with a pick-up from your hotel, followed by a transfer to the Love Park, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the sculpture "The Kiss." Next, we will walk to Intihuatana Park, a natural viewpoint linked to Andean traditions.

Afterward, we will take a panoramic tour of Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Incan archaeological site. Here, our guide will explain the importance of this place, and you will have the option of sampling artisanal ice cream (not included). The tour continues through the district of San Isidro, with a stroll through the historic El Olivar Forest.

Later, you will visit the Historic Center of Lima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including the Museum of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) (open Tuesday to Sunday). Then, you will stroll through Lima's Plaza Mayor, admiring the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the City Hall, and the Club de la Unión from the outside.

The experience continues with a guided tour of the Church and Convent of Santo Domingo, where you will see its cloisters and the relics of Saint Rose of Lima, Saint Martin de Porres, and Saint John Macias.
Optionally, you will visit a handicrafts market. The tour concludes with a guided tasting of traditional Peruvian wines, piscos, and cocktails, including brandies, liqueurs, and macerated spirits. At the end of the tour, we will return to your hotel, thus concluding your first day in Peru.

RECOMMENDATION

Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, the Biodiversity Capital of Peru, we will meet you at the airport. Then, we will begin our program with a bus tour of the city.

Afterward, we will head to the Capitanía Port to board a motorized boat and navigate the Lower Madre de Dios River. During the trip, we will immerse ourselves in a fascinating natural environment, and with luck, we will observe capybaras, caimans, turtles, herons, cormorants, and other animal species.

At our lodge, you will be welcomed with a delicious nectar of Amazonian tropical fruits and shown to your comfortable room (bungalow). A delicious lunch will await you in our cozy, rustic-style dining room. Once your palate is satisfied, our expert guide will lead you along a well-marked interpretive trail to Cocha Caimán, a small lagoon teeming with black caimans (Melanosuchus niger) and spectacled caimans (Caiman crocodilus).

At the end of the afternoon, on your way back to the lodge, you'll witness a spectacular Amazonian sunset from the riverbank, an experience filled with vibrant colors in a range of inviting hues.
As night falls, a delicious dinner awaits, and you'll have free time to enjoy unforgettable moments in our bar, which features an excellent selection of board games and a full selection of drinks.

RECOMMENDATION
It is important that you send us your flight information so we can coordinate the pick-up and transfer time to the airport (the flight must be before 1:00 PM). We also recommend bringing mosquito repellent and sunscreen since we are going to the Peruvian jungle.

The magic begins with the songs of birds of the Amazonian paradise, waking to the call of the howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus). A hearty breakfast will provide you with the energy needed for a morning full of new experiences.

After breakfast, we will begin a hike into the depths of the forest, along specially prepared trails with bridges to cross streams and rivers.

During the walk, we will observe the flooded forest and a diverse array of flora and fauna, and continuing on, we will arrive at the majestic Lake Apu Victor, with its crystal-clear waters, surrounded by immense swamps and gigantic trees. Afterward, we'll ascend to the Amazonian Lookout, from which we'll enjoy a panoramic view of the lake, observing parrots, macaws, toucans, Andean geese, hoatzins (a type of wild chicken with a prehistoric appearance), herons, and other animals such as caimans, turtles, etc., and if we're lucky, we might even spot the Giant Otter; one of the most spectacular animals in the jungle.

Back at the lodge, a hearty lunch will be waiting for you.

In the afternoon, accompanied by our expert guide, we'll visit Monkey Island; a unique place in the
heart of the Madre de Dios River, just five minutes from the lodge. During the hike, we will observe extraordinary landscapes with lush flora, sheltering a variety of monkey species in their natural habitat, such as spider monkeys, capuchins, pygmy marmosets, and squirrel monkeys, and with luck, other animal species like coatis and sloths, as well as a wide variety of birds.

Finally, we will complete our island visit by enjoying the sunset, the most breathtaking twilight in the jungle. Afterward, we will return to the lodge and conclude the day with a pleasant dinner.

After breakfast, we will begin an adventure through the virgin rainforest, and accompanied by a local guide, we will hike deep into the jungle to reach Cocha Perdida (Lost Lake), which is a refuge and feeding ecosystem for an immense variety of animals.

There, we will have the opportunity to observe otters, caimans, turtles, tapirs, birds with multicolored plumage, the majestic jaguar, and a variety of fish species. This area is unique and part of the Ecoamazon Ecological Reserve, which keeps it intact, with its vast swamps and diverse palm groves.

Then, we will arrive at the extraordinary Amazonian Lookout, from which we can appreciate the immense and magical rainforest. Afterward, we will take a pleasant canoe ride around the lake and return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, we can take an optional tour of the local Botanical Garden, or if you prefer, you can relax by the Amazonian Pool. In the evening, we'll have dinner and rest, surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest.

Back at the lodge, you can enjoy a delicious dinner. If you're feeling energetic, you can enjoy a fun night at our bar.

Our Amazon rainforest adventure comes to an end. We'll begin our return journey by navigating the river, surrounded by lush vegetation, towards the airport in Puerto Maldonado.

During the trip, we'll have the opportunity to observe wildlife as the rainforest awakens, keeping a watchful eye out for Amazonian fauna from our boat. Upon arrival at the Puerto Maldonado airport, you'll board your departure flight.

Upon arrival in Lima, our staff will be waiting for you at the airport to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel.

In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and continue our journey by road. Our first stop will be at the pier, where we will complete the SERNANP (National Service of Natural Protected Areas) check and wait to board.

During the journey across the Pacific Ocean, we will be able to observe the Candelabro geoglyph, the impressive rock formations that make up the islands, as well as sea lions, a great diversity of birds, and other marine species of the area.

Around 11:00 a.m., we will have free time to purchase snacks or admire local handicrafts. After about 20 minutes, we will begin the tour to the Paracas National Reserve, where we will visit the ruins of the La Catedral rock formation, Yumaque Beach, Red Beach, and Lagunillas Beach.

Afterward, we will have time for lunch and rest (lunch not included). Optionally, you can visit the Paracas National Reserve Interpretation Center around 3:00 p.m. m.

At the end of the tour, we will transfer you to the bus station in Paracas where you will board a bus for a 3.5-hour ride to the city of Nazca. Our staff will be waiting to take you to your luxury hotel.

Afterward, you will enjoy a breathtaking 30-minute flight over the Nazca Lines, where you can appreciate 12 geoglyphic figures, including the Spider, the Monkey, the Dog, the Lizard, the Hummingbird, and the Condor, among others. These large figures range in length from 15 to 300 meters, with an approximate depth of 30 centimeters, and represent an invaluable pre-Incan cultural legacy located in this region of Peru.

During the flight, you will have the opportunity to take photographs and record videos, capturing this unique and unforgettable experience. After the flight, you will have time for lunch if you wish, and then our transport will take you to the bus station for your return to Lima on our tourist bus. Next, we will explore the Cusco Cathedral, an artistic gem that houses valuable works of the Cusco School. We'll begin at Moray, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory comprised of enormous circular terraces that descend into the earth in a near-perfect design. Here, you'll discover how the Incas mastered agriculture by adapting different microclimates to cultivate their sacred crops.

Next, we'll continue to the Maras Salt Mines, an impressive complex of over 3,000 salt ponds dating back to pre-Inca times. From here, you'll have spectacular panoramic views of the Sacred Valley mountains while learning about the ancient salt extraction technique still practiced by local families.

Very early in the morning, our team will pick you up from your hotel to begin one of the most exciting adventures of your trip.

We'll travel approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to Cusipata, where we'll enjoy an Andean breakfast with local products, perfect for recharging and acclimatizing before the adventure to Rainbow Mountain.

Then, we'll continue for 2 hours to the starting point at an altitude of 4,600 m (15,091 ft). From there, we'll begin the ascent on ATVs along a scenic route, surrounded by breathtaking Andean landscapes, and hike for about 10 minutes to the main viewpoint at 5,020 m (12,139 ft). There you'll have time to rest, take photos, and marvel at Vinicunca's stunning array of colors.

The descent will also be on ATVs, allowing you to enjoy the adrenaline rush and unique views of the Andes, making the experience both fun and safe. Finally, we'll return to Cusipata for a hearty buffet lunch before boarding our transport back to Cusco around 5:00 p.m.

Very early in the morning, our team will pick you up from your hotel to begin the adventure to the majestic Humantay Lagoon.

During the journey, you'll enjoy beautiful Andean landscapes until you reach the village of Mollepata (2,803 m / 9,196 ft), where you'll savor a typical breakfast prepared with local products, ideal for acclimatizing and recharging your energy before continuing the trip.

Then we'll continue to Soraypampa (3,900 m / 12,795 ft), the starting point of the experience. From here, we'll begin the ascent to Humantay Lagoon on horseback, accompanied by local muleteers, enjoying the scenery without the physical exertion of hiking. During the ride, you'll appreciate privileged views of the imposing Salkantay mountain and the verdant valleys that surround it.

Upon arriving at Humantay Lagoon (4,200 m / 13,779 ft), you'll be amazed by its turquoise waters contrasting with the snow-capped mountains. You'll have free time to rest, take photos, and enjoy the tranquility of the place.

After this unforgettable moment, we'll descend back to Soraypampa on horseback and then board our transport for the return trip to Mollepata, where we'll enjoy a hearty buffet lunch.

Finally, we'll return to Cusco, concluding a day filled with nature, spectacular landscapes, and a unique Andean experience.

The Ruta del Sol Tour begins at approximately 6:00 a.m., with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco to take you to the bus station to begin this fascinating journey through the South Valley, following the route from Cusco to the beautiful city of Puno. Check-in and baggage claim take place at 7:00 a.m., with a scheduled departure at 7:20 a.m.

This tour offers a comprehensive experience of the history, culture, and landscapes of the southern Andes. The first stop is the Chapel of Andahuaylillas, a 17th-century church known as the "Sistine Chapel of the Andes," famous for its impressive murals, gold leaf work, and paintings from the Cusco School. The visit lasts approximately 25 minutes, and filming and photography are not permitted inside. We continue to the Raqchi Archaeological Complex, also known as the Temple of the God Wiracocha, where
you can appreciate storehouses (colcas) and remarkable stone and adobe constructions that reflect the grandeur of the Inca Empire.

The visit lasts 40 minutes, and we recommend wearing a hat and sunscreen. Afterward, we will enjoy a buffet lunch at the La Pascana tourist restaurant, located on the outskirts of Sicuani. The lunch includes a varied selection of national and regional dishes, salads, side dishes, desserts, and hot beverages such as coca tea, coffee, or tea. Lunch lasts approximately 40 minutes (cold beverages are not included).

Later, we ascend to Abra La Raya, the border between Cusco and Puno at 4,335 meters above sea level. From here, you can see the snow-capped Chimboya mountain, the source of the Amazon River. The stop lasts 7 to 10 minutes, and we recommend bringing extra layers and drinking coca tea to help prevent altitude sickness. Finally, we visited the Lithic Museum of Pukara, where we learned about the Pukara culture (1600 BC – 400 AD) through ceramics and zoomorphic sculptures, highlighting the famous Hatun Ñaqac figure, thus concluding a day full of history, tradition, and unforgettable Andean landscapes. Upon arrival at the bus terminal in Puno (Av. Costanera 430), our staff will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.

Before checking out in Cusco, be sure to check your belongings and documents. Puno is a city located at 3800 meters above sea level, so we recommend bringing thermal clothing as it gets noticeably cold at night.

Today we will explore Lake Titicaca and its islands. We will begin with a 7:50 a.m. pick-up from your hotel to head to the port and take a boat to the floating islands of the Uros. We will arrive at 9:15 a.m., where we will have a guided tour of the Uros Islands, known for their unique way of life, using totora reeds (aquatic plants) in their houses, rafts, and handicrafts.

Then we will continue our tour to Amantaní Island (3,663 m). We will arrive around 1:30 p.m., where we will enjoy a typical lunch and have time to relax and explore the island. At 3:00 p.m., we will begin a hike to Pachatata, one of the highest points to watch the sunset.

We will return at 6:00 p.m. We will share dinner and participate in folk dances with local families, dressed in traditional village costumes.

We recommend climbing to the Pachatata temple as it offers one of the most enjoyable sunsets on the islands. At night, don't forget to wear warm clothing as it gets quite cold. Bring cash so you can leave a voluntary tip for the local families.

In the morning, at 7:00 a.m., we will have breakfast with the families of Amantaní and then head to Taquile Island (3950 m). We will arrive at Taquile at 10:30 a.m., where we will begin a hike to explore the island and discover a traditional way of life where property is private, but work is collective, with around 300 inhabitants who alternate days of individual and communal work. Taquile follows the Inca principles of "do not steal, do not lie, and do not be idle," customs they have maintained for centuries. During our visit, we will enjoy breathtaking views of the Altiplano. At midday, we will enjoy a typical lunch.

Finally, we will board our boat, which will take us back to Puno. We will arrive at the port of Puno at approximately 3:00 p.m. and then be transferred to our hotel in the city of Puno. Overnight in Puno.

Pick-up from your hotel in Puno will be between 6:00 and 6:15 a.m., and we will then head to the bus terminal to depart for Chivay at 6:30 a.m. The trip takes approximately 6 hours.

During the journey, we will make three main stops. The first will be in Lagunillas, where we can observe Andean birds such as flamingos, Andean gulls, and wild ducks.

The second stop will be in Pampa Cañahuas, where we will appreciate rock formations and Andean camelids such as vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas.

The third stop will be at the Patapampa Viewpoint (4,950 m a.s.l.), known as the Volcano Viewpoint, from where you can see the Misti, Chachani, and Ampato volcanoes.

Arrival in Chivay is scheduled between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Check-in at the hotel will take place at 10:00 a.m., followed by a buffet lunch.

In the afternoon, you may optionally visit the La Calera hot springs, whose medicinal waters reach temperatures between 35°C and 38°C.

IMPORTANT
We recommend visiting the Calera thermal baths; they are one of the best thermal baths in Peru.

At 6:00 a.m., we will enjoy a nutritious Andean breakfast. At approximately 6:30 a.m., our staff will pick you up from your hotel to begin the tour to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, a strategic spot to observe the impressive flight of the Andean condor and appreciate the magnitude of the canyon, with time for taking photographs.

Afterward, we will continue the tour in tourist transport, making stops in the towns of Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque, where we will admire beautiful colonial churches. We will also visit the Chocotico and Antahuilque viewpoints, from where we will see the impressive terraces of the valley and the pre-Incan tombs.

Finally, we will return to the city of Arequipa so you can rest at your hotel.

In the morning, we will pick you up to begin a walking tour of the historic center of Arequipa. The first stop will be the Church of the Society of Jesus (Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús), where we will receive an explanation about this magnificent building carved from sillar, a volcanic stone.

We will continue to the Plaza de Armas, where we will visit the Cathedral of Arequipa, the city's main church, built entirely of sillar, with time for taking photographs.

Next, we will visit the Archbishop's Palace of Arequipa, an elegant pink sillar building with an imposing facade.

The tour continues with a visit to the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco, located in the historic center, renowned for its mestizo architecture, sillar walls, and single nave.

Finally, we will visit the Monastery of Santa Catalina, where you can explore the complex. In this emblematic place, you will learn about the religious architecture of the Viceroyalty and discover the culture, traditions, and life of the convent. Then return to your hotel and have the rest of the afternoon free to explore Arequipa on your own.
