The day concludes with your arrival at the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where you will enjoy your first panoramic view of Machu Picchu.

Itinerary Short Inca Trail 2 Days / 1 Night Tour to Machu Picchu

Day 1 Cusco - Km 104 - Wiñay Wayna - Machu Picchu

Very early in the morning, at 4:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel and travel by private transport to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you will board the 6:10 a.m. Expedition train.

After approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes of travel, we will arrive at Km 104, also known as Chachabamba (2,100 m / 6,927 ft). Here we will begin our hike. We will start with a moderate ascent for 3 hours, enjoying beautiful views of the Urubamba Canyon and walking along trails surrounded by nature.
We will arrive at the impressive archaeological complex of Wiñay Wayna (2,650 m / 8,747 ft), one of the most outstanding sites on the Inca Trail.

Here you will be able to appreciate its terraces, architecture, and the grandeur of the Andean landscape. We will continue along an original Inca trail until we reach the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), located at 2,730 m / 9,007 ft. From this point, you will have your first panoramic view of Machu Picchu, one of the most iconic scenes of the trip. As we approach the citadel, you will feel the energy and majesty of this sacred place.

Afterward, we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will check into your hotel and spend the night.

RECOMMENDATION: Always carry your ID or passport, as it is required to enter the archaeological sites and to board the train. Wear comfortable clothing, a waterproof jacket, and hiking boots. Don't forget water, sunscreen, sunglasses, and your passport. Walk at your own pace, as the route includes uphill sections, and always pay attention to your guide's instructions to enjoy the tour safely.

Day 2 Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Today you will explore the majestic Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Very early, around 5:30 a.m., we will board one of the first buses to the citadel to enjoy a more peaceful atmosphere and, weather permitting, witness the sunrise over the mountains surrounding Machu Picchu.

Upon arrival, you will have time to appreciate the panoramic view and connect with the energy of the place before beginning your guided tour.

Our guide will accompany you for approximately two hours, exploring the most important points of the citadel, its main streets, ceremonial sectors, agricultural terraces, and temples.

Optional activities (not included and require advance booking):

Ascent to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, from where you will have spectacular views of the entire citadel.:
In Aguas Calientes: visit to the hot springs (additional entrance fees apply).:

After the visit, we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time for lunch on your own. Finally, we'll head to the station to board the Expedition train to Ollantaytambo. Our private transportation will be waiting there to take you to your hotel in Cusco.

We'll arrive in the city at approximately 8:30 p.m., concluding this unforgettable experience.
