Our starting point will be at the Plaza de Armas to begin our City Tour at 1:50 pm. The “Panoramic Bus Countryside Tour” is a tourist tour that takes place in Arequipa. Our guide will give us detailed explanations of all the points of our itinerary. We will enjoy the second floor of the mirabus to have a better view of all the tourist attractions of the city of Arequipa, we will be able to get off the bus at the following points:
We will then return to the city center of Arequipa, arriving at approximately 6:00 p.m., then we will rest for the next day.
We start the day with a pick-up at your hotel between 07:30 a.m. and 08:00 a.m. to begin our journey to one of the deepest and most beautiful canyons in the world. Our trip takes approximately 04 hours to reach the main town of Chivay, making tourist stops along the way:
We will have lunch in Chivay at approximately 2:00 p.m., then you can settle into your hotel. During the afternoon we can enjoy a relaxing bath in the Hot Springs whose thermal medicinal waters range between 35º C and 40º C in the pools.
At night it is optional to participate in a dinner show.

After breakfast at the hotel, at 08:00 a.m. we will go to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, which is 01 hour away, an observation point of the Colca Canyon and if feasible to appreciate the spectacular flight of the Condor. At this point we will spend an average of 45 minutes to observe the beauty of the valley.
On the way back we will stop at the viewpoints in the area from where we will observe the impressive Andenería del Valle and in the town of Maca, where we will see its church and optional tasting of local drinks such as the Colca Sour, made from local products. We will also have lunch in this part.
We will begin at 01:00 pm. our way back to the city of Arequipa. If we missed a point on the way to Chivay on the first day of our tour, we can make a stop on the way back to see all the tourist spots, depending on the weather and the group.
We will arrive in the city of Arequipa at approximately 4:30 pm, and we will drop you off near the Plaza de Armas. You will have the rest of the day to rest or walk around the city.
We begin with the pick-up from your hotel between 06:15 a.m. to 06:45 a.m. Our first stop will be in the town of Pampa de Arrieros where the entrance to the white city used to be for people arriving on board the train. Then we will pass through the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve; home of vicuñas, which live freely in the area.
Then we head to Patahuasi to drink the traditional Mate de Coca, a must to avoid altitude sickness.
In approximately one hour we will be arriving at the Pillones Waterfall, a magnificent place of connection with nature. We will begin the descent to reach the waterfall in approximately 20 minutes; upon arriving at the place we will observe the incredible waterfalls of this impressive waterfall; in the place you will have time to take photos and enjoy this incredible landscape that surrounds it. We will also be able to observe rocks molded by water erosion.
After visiting the beautiful waterfall we will head to the Imata Stone Forest, where we will begin the walk for approximately 40 minutes; there we will be able to appreciate the Stone Forest, a natural place with strange rock formations and stone columns that provoke a unique sensation. We will have lunch and a short break so that at the end we can begin our way back to the city.
We will arrive in the city of Arequipa at approximately 4:30 pm, and we will leave you near the Plaza de Armas. Today you will also have the rest of the day free to learn more about the city and rest quietly.
Just like yesterday, we start with the pick up between 06:15am and 06:45am. And we begin our journey towards the Salinas Lagoon making different stops.
Our first visit will be to the Mirador de los Volcanes in the district of Chiguata; which we will reach in an average of 45 minutes; from there we will be able to observe our representative volcanoes and we will be able to take photographs.
Later we will arrive at the main square of Chiguata where its traditional Espíritu Santo church is located and we will enjoy a traditional breakfast of the area.
Then we will continue our journey and in a journey of approximately 01 hour we will make a stop at Alto Simbral (4200 masl) where we will be able to observe plants typical of the area such as Queñua, Yareta, Tola, etc.
Continuing our tour we will arrive at the Laguna de Salinas where we will stay between 01 hour to 01 hour and 30 minutes making different stops to observe flamingos, parihuanas, water mirrors (from January to March), sighting of vicuñas, llamas and alpacas (all year round).
In the dry season (April to December) we will visit the salt extraction centers where imagination is essential to take spectacular photographs. Then we will go to the Hot Springs and mini volcano of Lojen to enjoy a relaxing bath. Finally we will return to Chiguata for lunch and then we will begin the return to the city of Arequipa.
We will arrive in the city of Arequipa at approximately 04:30 pm, and we will leave you near the Plaza de Armas. This will be the last afternoon and night that you can be in Arequipa, so enjoy it a lot.
On this last day we will start with a pick-up between 08:45 a.m. and 09:00 a.m. to begin the Sillar Route, which is a tourist tour with a lot of history and living culture, where we visit quarries and areas where the sillar was created.
The first point where we will make a stop will be the Añashuayco Quarry; which we will reach in approximately 45 minutes. It is currently in operation, the stonemasons do their work from very early in the morning; in the place we will be able to appreciate an immense canyon with cliffs (ignimbrite walls) that are several meters high, formed by the extraction for the formation of the ashlars. At this point we will tell you the history of the sillar, the elaboration and the use that has always been given to it. In this quarry you will be able to observe a Megacarving of the Church of the Society of Jesus made by the same stonemasons. We will also be able to visit some of them so that they can explain to us what their daily work is like and let us experience cutting some of their stone blocks ourselves.
Then we will move to the Quebrada de Culebrillas, which is located 30 minutes from Añashuayco. Arriving at this point we will take a walk of approximately 20 minutes inside the small canyon that was formed by the passage of water, which has walls of 15 to 20 meters. As we go deeper into it, the walls of the canyon increase in height. At the end of the walk we will be able to observe petroglyphs with descendants of the Wari culture more than a thousand years ago. Before returning to the city we will observe the Apachetas, which are stone formations placed one on top of the other that are a symbol of gratitude to nature and also an attraction of good luck which cause a mystical feeling.
We will arrive in the city of Arequipa at approximately 12:30 pm, and we will drop you off at your hotel so you can pack your belongings and be ready for the transfer from your hotel to the airport.

¡Yes! You must bring your original passport and it is very important that it has the same passport number that you sent us to book your permit for the Machu Picchu Tour or package. Your passport will be checked when you enter Machu Picchu and when you board the train. In case you are renewing your passport, please send us a copy of your old passport to secure your permission and be able to change it when you get your new passport. If so, please send us a copy of your new passport as soon as possible.

In the event that you are unable to finish the trek due to health reasons, our team will take you to the nearest town for assistance with transportation. We always carry oxygen on our treks for any respiratory issues. In extreme cases, we can arrange for a helicopter at your expense. (Travel insurance required, recommended). There are no refunds in the unlikely situation that you are unable to finish the trek.
Generally, those who need help getting off the trail are taken to Ollantaytambo and if they recover quickly they continue the journey to Aguas Calientes (cost incurred by the trekker) and visit Machu Picchu according to the original plan.
Unfortunately, the answer is No. Once the permits have been purchased, the Peruvian government does not allow any changes, so we cannot change any dates after the permit has been purchased. The permits are also non-transferable and non-refundable. If you cancel your Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 4 days, the deposit is not refundable at all.
Of course! Round-trip transfer to your hotel is included in all our packages! If you have booked your hotel in the Sacred Valley, we will drop you off there and vice versa.
