We will start with the pick up at 5:00 am from your hotel in our private transportation for a 4 hour trip to Capuliyoc, located on the edge of the Apurimac canyon and which is surrounded by impressive peaks and snow-capped mountains here we will have an hour to have breakfast (not included). Then, we will walk for 2 hours until we reach Chikiska where we will have lunch. Then we will continue our hike for another 1 hour to Playa Rosalinas (1,550 masl / 5,084 ft), where we will spend the night and enjoy our delicious dinner prepared by our professional chef.
Starting early in the morning we will have our breakfast made with quality products of the Andes, at the end of our breakfast we will start our hike ascending to the community of Santa Rosa and then Maranpata, where we will have lunch. The ascent from the river takes approximately 4 hours and the hike is a bit hard. From our lunch spot, we can see the remains of Choquequirao, an ancient Inca construction. Then, we have 2 more hours of hiking to reach the archaeological site of Choquequirao (3,110 masl / 10,120 ft) where we will spend the night and we can see the sunset and some condors flying around this impressive landscape and then have dinner and rest for the next day.
Early in the morning we will be awakened by our team who will provide us with warm help to wash and be ready to enjoy our delicious breakfast, after finishing our breakfast we can explore more deeply the archaeological site of Choquequirao and then rest a little before lunch. In the afternoon, we will ascend and hike to the remains of Pinchiunuyoc, where we will camp for the night (2 hour hike down). This is definitely the easiest day of the trip.
After a delicious breakfast in the morning, we will walk downhill for 2 hours and arrive at the Rio Blanco canyon (1,990 masl / 6,527 ft), where we rest before beginning a difficult ascent to our campsite in Maizal where we will have lunch and rest for the day. The ascent takes between 3 and 4 hours and at night we will be delighted with a starry sky that can only be seen in this beautiful valley. Our guide will show you the costelaciones and tell you local stories.
We will walk uphill for approximately 3 hours to the Victoria Mines, one of the largest mines in that area. We will also visit some Inca ruins before ascending for 1 more hour to the Victoria Pass (4,130 masl / 13,546 ft). There are spectacular views from the pass, upon reaching the pass we will descend to the charming village of Yanama (approximately 2 hours of walking) following a section with some Inca trails.
Once we arrive at Yanama, we take local transport to Lucmabamba where we will have our lunch and spend the night at our campsite. On the way, we will be able to enjoy the magnificent views of the snow-capped mountains and waterfalls, as well as being able to visit the beautiful Cocalmayo hot springs (optional) rich in minerals and known for their crystal-clear waters.
We will have our breakfast in the morning and then walk for 3 hours along the original Inca Trail and through the cloud forest to the Puncuyoc Pass, then we will walk to the Inca remains of Llactapata, an Inca site (2,700 m / 8,907 ft), which is located right in front of the Machu Picchu Citadel.
Once there, we will enjoy a unique perspective of Machu Picchu from afar. Afterwards, we will walk downhill for 2 hours to the hydroelectric plant where we will have lunch and say goodbye to our wonderful team (chef, chef assistant, waiter among others). Then we will continue walking to the town of Aguas Calientes through the Machu Picchu National Sanctuary by the railway enjoying the surroundings of this Wonder of the Modern World.

We will have breakfast at our hotel and then take the first bus to Machu Picchu. It will take you 30 minutes to reach the archaeological site of Machu Picchu, one of the Wonders of the Modern World and a World Heritage Site, an experience you will never forget. Your guide will take you through the amazing vestiges of the citadel along its main streets. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the squares surrounding the city and do some of the following activities on your own:
After our guided tour we will take the bus to return to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch on your own and at 2:55, 3:20 or 4:22 pm, we will take our Expedition train back to Ollantaytambo, and then return to the city of Cusco in our private transportation.

Inside your backpack
As a Direct Tour Operator, we provide you with a duffel bag at your briefing and we WILL include an additional porter, who will carry up to 7 kgs / 14 lbs, including your 2.5kg sleeping bag, mat and extra clothing.
We highly recommend having a small 30-40L trekking backpack for the day. in which you can carry the following things
Water: Please bring your own water on the first day until the first camp for lunch, then we will provide cold boiled water at each meal. Please bring your water bottle.

If you wish, we can pick you up from the airport to give you a warm welcome to the city of Cusco and transfer you to your hotel, so you must inform us of your flight details at least 14 days before your trip. On the day of your arrival, please look for our representative who will be holding a sign with the META Peru logo at the airport (coordinate when making your reservation).
The information talk will take place the night before the trek at 6:00 pm at our office or at your hotel.

We would appreciate it if you pay in cash at our office (we accept US dollars or Peruvian soles) during your briefing 2 or 4 days before your trip. We have many ATMs in downtown Cusco. You can also pay with VISA or PAYPAL online, but you will have to pay a 5.5% service charge, charged by VISA and PAYPAL. To pay your balance via PAYPAL, you must log in to your PAYPAL account using our email address of metaperutravel@gmail.com.

¡Yes! You must bring your original passport and it is very important that it has the same passport number that you sent us to book your permit for the Machu Picchu Tour or package. Your passport will be checked when you enter Machu Picchu and when you board the train. In case you are renewing your passport, please send us a copy of your old passport to secure your permission and be able to change it when you get your new passport. If so, please send us a copy of your new passport as soon as possible.
DISCOUNTS
In the event that you are unable to finish the trek due to health reasons, our team will take you to the nearest town for assistance with transportation. We always carry oxygen on our treks for any respiratory issues. In extreme cases, we can arrange for a helicopter at your expense. (Travel insurance required, recommended). There are no refunds in the unlikely situation that you are unable to finish the trek.
Generally, those who need help getting off the trail are taken to Ollantaytambo and if they recover quickly they continue the journey to Aguas Calientes (cost incurred by the trekker) and visit Machu Picchu according to the original plan.
Unfortunately, the answer is No. Once the permits have been purchased, the Peruvian government does not allow any changes, so we cannot change any dates after the permit has been purchased. The permits are also non-transferable and non-refundable. If you cancel your Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 4 days, the deposit is not refundable at all.
Of course! Round-trip transfer to your hotel is included in all our packages! If you have booked your hotel in the Sacred Valley, we will drop you off there and vice versa.
If you are satisfied with the services provided, a tip is appreciated by our staff, although it is not mandatory. While it may not be a custom, it is of great importance to the people who will take care of you during the trek. It inspires excellent service and is an ingrained feature of the tourism industry in many META Peru destinations. Of course, you are free to tip as much as you like, depending on your perception of the quality and length of your trip. Remember, tipping is not mandatory and should only be given when you receive excellent service.
